Private Party Transfers

Selling a firearm to someone face-to-face in Maryland? State law requires all private party transfers to go through a licensed dealer.

We handle it all:

• 4473 background check

• Maryland paperwork (77R)

• Proper documentation and safe storage

Just bring in the buyer, seller, and the firearm. We’ll take care of the rest. Available Monday-Friday only.

Online & Out-of-State Transfers

Bought a firearm online or from another state? Have it shipped to The Machine Gun Nest.

Here’s how it works:

1. Purchase your firearm and select us as your FFL

2. The sender ships it to us

3. We contact you once it arrives

4. You complete the background check and wait the required 7 days (for regulated firearms)

5. Pick up your firearm—easy!​

What You Need to Bring

• Valid government-issued photo ID

• Maryland HQL (for handgun purchases)

• Secondary proof of residency if required

• Firearm (unloaded and secured for transport)

• Any magazines, cases, or accessories (optional)
